Program Background
Allen County Public Health’s Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) program is responsible for ensuring Allen County maintains a strong public health infrastructure and response network during a public health emergency and/or disaster (natural or man-made) through regular training, drills, and exercises. These exercises help to better prepare public health leaders on how to respond during a public health emergency to prevent disease and injury or maintain the public’s health.
Additionally, Allen County Public Health (ACPH) maintains several Emergency Response Plans in the event of a local, state, or federal emergency. We work closely with the Allen County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), hospitals, public safety agencies, community healthcare agencies, and other local community organizations to be prepared for a public health emergency or disaster and to ensure the safety or our residents.
