The Health Education Division provides local leadership for community programs that promote good health in our community.
Health educators are available to:
• help assess individual and community needs for health education
• help plan, implement, and evaluate effective health education programs
• coordinate provision of health education services with other community agencies
• serve as a resource for health education
Specific examples of health education projects include participating in the community health assessment and providing education for health professionals.
Current established programs include HIV/AIDS testing and education, Health Ministries, and promoting healthy lifestyles through physical activity and nutrition and by avoiding tobacco. Resources such as videotapes and visual aids are available and may be borrowed upon request.
